This blog article is a quick interview with Jay Daniells who owns Green Valley Digital. It is part of the blog article series where we are featuring our event sponsors. More articles about our sponsors will be added soon.

Jay and his team provided us with this website and have also been commissioned by us to manage and co-manage our social media.

Please tell us a little about yourself

First and foremost I want to say thank you to you (Lisa) and the entire Bethlehem Live committee for providing myself and my team with this wonderful opportunity. It has been a privilege and one we will never forget.

I have been working in the media, web, web IT and marketing and digital marketing industry since 2003. My LinkedIn profile is here. Most of my career has been in Brisbane but in 2008 I decided to leave and work remote instead; I was doing a lot of contract work for Ocean Ark Alliance at the time so didn’t really matter where I was physically living.

I felt Bundaberg would be a great place to call home and would also allow me to spend more time in the outdoors again and with my family.

It has been a GREAT move! I commute back and forth between here and Brisbane, but nowadays I spend about 80% of my time in Bundaberg.

I grew up on a farm in Gayndah. It was a great place to grow up. We used to travel over to Bundaberg at least 2 times per year. I always liked Bundaberg and Bargara.

How did Green Valley Digital come about and what does the business do?

We get results for our clients and help them achieve their goals.

Green Valley Digital got its name because Green Valley Grazing Company was my Grandfathers business. I grew up on the farm and in the house he lived in. I never met him though – he passed away before I was born.

At Green Valley Digital we really like being able to serve others. That’s a big part of our ‘why’s’; why we do what we do. We also like to be easy to work with, encouraging, supportive, respectful and friendly. We believe in treating others the way we want to be treated.

What drew you to become involved in Bethlehem Live Bundaberg?

It sounded really good to me! I also like collaborating/ working with others on team projects. When they told me the premise of the event I was additionally hooked.

It definitely is a VERY worthwhile community event!

There are heaps of other reasons why I chose to become involved. Off the top of my head a few of them are:

I really like this time of year. I like seeing people smiling and happy knowing the end of the work year isn’t too far away. I  also like all the Christmas stuff. That aside though, I also believe if able, it is a good thing to play a part and positive contribution to local community. Giving back and paying it forward is important to me. Many hands make light work after all. It is also part of Green Valley Digital’s mandate.

Off topic: Here are 2 videos I shot at last nights Pageant of Lights. I captured this footage since Bethlehem Live Bundaberg had a float in the procession.

I uploaded the videos to my personal YouTube account today due to lack of spare time, but plan to create a YouTube Channel for Bethlehem Live Bundaberg very shortly. Thought I’d share these videos here for anyone who wants to see them:

Thanks for reading this interview blog article with Jay from Green Valley Digital. We will be profiling other sponsors of the event shortly. Please stay tuned and visit this site again soon.
